FSRA Rule 2024-003 (Automobile Insurance - Fraud Reporting Service), NOT IN FORCE

What an insurer will have to report to FSRA about automobile insurance fraud. Approved, but not in force: it waits on an unproclaimed Insurance Act change.

This is not in force

Section 5(1) of this Rule says it comes into force on the later of two things: the day Insurance Act s. 101.3 and clause 8.2 of s. 121.0.1 (1) come into force, and fifteen days after the Minister approves the Rule. The first of those has not happened. Both provisions are printed in the Insurance Act consolidation this corpus carries under the heading "On a day to be named by proclamation of the Lieutenant Governor" (2022, c. 17, Sched. 2, ss. 3 and 4), which is how e-Laws prints a provision that is not in force. So the condition the Rule waits on is unmet and the Rule is not law. It is carried because a candidate may meet it, and because the obligation it will create is an insurer's, not a broker's. Nothing in it may be cited as a current requirement, and no question may be built on it.

Worth knowing about this source

For anyone quoting page 1: the word ONTARIO in the heading is broken across a line, so a search for it will not match there. Both halves are present, in order, either side of the break.

Why the wording is not on this page

The wording belongs to its publisher, Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario, so this page carries what the document is, which edition it is, and a link to the official copy. The Ontario statutes and regulations on this site are here in full because e-Laws allows that; this document is not published there.

How a question cites it

A citation naming this document carries its own numbering, an exact quote, and no page anchor, because there are no section anchors to resolve against. Every claim a question makes about it is checkable in the copy linked above.
