BrokerExam

Terms

Terms of use

Using this site means these apply. Each clause describes something the site actually does.

What this is

BrokerExam is study material for the RIBO Level 1 entry-level insurance broker examination in Ontario: practice questions, flashcards, mock exams, and the published sources they are drawn from. This is a study aid, nothing more. We are not RIBO, we do not license anyone, and nothing here is legal advice.

Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario sets and marks the examination, and has no part in this site. BrokerExam is independent study material. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any regulator or exam provider. Nothing here can promise a pass.

What you get for the money

One payment of $75 CAD plus tax opens the full question bank, the full flashcard decks, and mock exams with no limit on how many you sit. There is no subscription, nothing renews, and there is nothing to cancel. Questions and cards written after you buy are included.

"Lifetime" means as long as the site is around. If we ever shut it down we will give you notice.

One payment opens one account, for one person. The free half stays free whether or not you ever pay, and nothing that is free today is taken behind the paywall later.

You can ask for the money back within 7 days, without giving a reason. How, and what happens to the account afterwards, is on the refund page.

What you may do with it

What you may not

Doing any of those four ends an account here, without a refund. Nothing else on this site can end one, and a busy afternoon of practice is not any of them.

Ownership

The questions and explanations belong to BrokerExam. Use them to study. Do not scrape, copy or share them.

The law they rest on is nobody's to own. The Registered Insurance Brokers Act, its regulations, the by-laws, the Ontario Automobile Policy and the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule are public documents, reproduced here as they were published and linked to their official copies. Nothing on this site claims a right over any of them, and reading them here or anywhere else is free.

Your account

Keep your sign-in to yourself, and tell us at [email protected] if you think somebody else has it. You are responsible for what is done with an account signed in as you.

You can close your own account from the profile page, at any time, without asking anybody. What happens to your data when you do is on the privacy page, item by item.

An account gets account and progress email: a welcome, a note when you buy, a weekly summary while you have full access, and reminders around your exam date. You can turn it off on your profile page or from the link in any of those emails. Study tips and updates are sent only if you ask for them, and turn off the same way.

What is not promised

No pass. Nobody selling study material can promise one, and a site that did would be telling you something it has no way of knowing. It offers practice against the published sources, scored honestly.

No professional advice. A question about a claim, a wording or a licence is answered here as an exam question, not as advice about a real file. A real file is read against the real policy.

There is no promise that the site is up every minute of every day. It runs on ordinary hosting and it will be down sometimes. Nothing is charged for the time it is down, because nothing here is charged for twice.

Accuracy

We try hard to keep this accurate and up to date, but we are a study site, not a law firm. If something looks wrong, tell us at [email protected] and we will sort it out.

Payment

Payments are taken by Paddle, which is the merchant of record: it sells you the product, handles the tax, and issues the receipt. BrokerExam never sees or stores a card number. Refunds are on the refund page.

Changes, and the law that applies

These terms can change. A change that takes something away from a buyer is announced on the site before it applies, and a change that only adds is not. The date at the foot of this page is when it was last checked, and it moves when the wording does.

Ontario law applies, and the courts of Ontario are where a dispute would be heard.

Anything unclear here is worth asking about: [email protected].
